Ingredients:


1 cup dried black eyed peas

1 teaspoon salt

4 cups water -- (4 to 5)

1/2 cup uncooked rice

2 slices bacon cut into halves -- (2 to 3)

1/2 pound lean ground beef

1 small chopped onion

1 teaspoon salt -- pepper and msg for ground beef

1 clove garlic chopped
 

Preparation / Directions:


Cover Black Eyed Peas with Water and Bring to a boil. Add the Bacon, Onion, Garlic and 1 Teaspoon Salt. Reduce heat to low, cover and cook for about 2 hours or until the Peas are tender. Add the Rice, cover and cook for about 20 minutes. While the Rice is cooking Saut‚ the Lean Ground Beef adding a little Salt, Fresh Ground Black Pepper and MSG to Taste. Add the Ground Beef to the Peas and Rice mixture. Stir to combine and serve hot.
